Alice L. Jolla is a General Manager for Microsoft and the Assistant Corporate Controller responsible for the Corporate Accounting function. Alice leads a team of over 100 full-time employees to ensure Microsoft is compliant with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. The financial close and analysis, accounting policy, revenue assurance, SEC reporting, treasury and tax controllership, cost accounting and inventory controllership, and SOX financial compliance groups report to Alice. In addition to serving on Microsoft’s Disclosure Committee, Alice directly supports and interacts with the Audit Committee of the Board and the CEO and CFO in their respective responsibilities for the oversight of financial reporting and internal controls at Microsoft.
Prior to being named Assistant Corporate Controller in 2014, Alice served in a Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis (CFP&A) role managing the Executive Reporting Team. Alice provided key leadership in business insight and analysis of Microsoft’s consolidated income statement and headcount of all functions to the Office of the CFO.
Before joining Microsoft in 2007 in the Corporate Accounting function, Alice completed a two-year fellowship with the Financial Accounting Standards Board in Norwalk, Connecticut. During her fellowship, she brought together industry accounting executives to develop key financial standards. Alice has a wealth of industry experience from various accounting positions within Dow Chemical Company and Union Carbide Corporation.
Alice has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Charleston and a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Louisiana State University. In addition to being a licensed certified public accountant (CPA), she is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt. Alice is a dynamic supporter of professional and civic organizations including Financial Executives International, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Black Accountants Corporate Advisory Board, TerryLee Ministries Board of Directors (a nonprofit organization dedicated to HIV/AIDS advocacy), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, theater/concerts, and home improvement projects.
